Introducing the Homeopathic Tote Box
Homeopathic remedies are likely not a household word for many families but they should be. When I was first introduced to the broader science of naturopathic health, I was very interested to find a way to access treatment for the cause of disease as opposed to the symptom of disease. The other issue, and perhaps a more befuddling topic is the endless spiral of side effects that accompanies big pharma drugs. It amazes me how aloof doctors are when discussing side effects when, in most cases, the long list of side effects invariably includes the very ailment that the prescription is claiming to “cure”. It seems for most people, the only question is “does my health plan cover this”? If it does, then off they go to the pharmacy to get the script filled.
So upon finding the practitioners that provide Naturopathic services for all family members, including the pets, I found it prudent to have on hand a number of different remedies for the more prevalent ailments that occur. I typically have between 10 to 20 Homeopathic remedies on hand. The brand I buy is from a manufacturing source called BOIRON who, like other competitors, form their medicine in a small spherical pellet approximately 2 mm in diameter. They are packaged in a small cylinder somewhat like a chap stick balm. Unfortunately the industry couldn’t settle on a standardized package which completely pulled the rug out on a universal container solution.
Prior to tackling the pursuit of finding an organizational means to store and access a particular homeopathic remedy, I tried free standing the cylinders stacked alphabetically along a cupboard wall up and away from prying eyes and fingers. For the most part, these cylinders behaved more like pins on a bowling alley cascading like dominos even at the thought of coming near them. I then bound them in two groups with elastics which became a source of frustration. I scoured the likes of Amazon for a solution, but all I found was a glorified pencil case to store them in. This was my trigger to design something that doesn’t appear to exist. A storage solution that would:
- Display the cylinders without having to take them out of a case.
- Provide easy access to remove and store one or more cylinders
- Is interlock-stackable to optimize cupboard storage
- Is robust so it can be popped into luggage or a bag when travelling

So, here’s what I came up with. This Tote Box holds 12 cylinders. The clear lid is held in place with a click semi-childproof safety retention lock.
I’d love to hear from you to let me know if you too are becoming frustrated to find an organizer for your Homeopathics. If you’re like me, I continue to expand my on-hand remedies so I really needed something that works. So far this solution is wonderful. Let me know what you think about this storage solution.
